Jackson Middle School (JMS) is a Leonard Bernstein School of Artful Learning, located in Portland, Oregon. Being a Bernstein school means that arts are used across the curriculum and the school is committed to a high quality of professional training in the arts. We are fortunate to have a teacher who focuses solely on choir. Melinda Murdock is our amazing director.
Our choirs are:
Sixth Grade Choir
Jaguar Singers, for seventh and eighth grades, is offered by semester.
Concert choir, for seventh and eighth grades, is offered year-round.
Ensemble is our auditioned, select choir for seventh and eighth grades.
Our ensemble choir performs and competes nationally. Tours have included Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Choral Festival of Gold in Nashville, TN.
